I’m Andrea Ramírez, a visual artist and graphic designer behind Muchachi.
I was born and raised in México and now live in California.
My work is shaped by color, culture, and the small objects I’ve always been drawn to.
I like making things by hand.
I collect random little treasures.
Music is always playing, and books are never far.
I still feel like a kid most of the time, and I think that shows up in everything I make.
Muchachi is a playful twist on the words muchacho and muchacha.
Back in 2016, when I was pregnant, we chose not to find out the gender. I needed something to call the little person I hadn’t met yet, so I made up a word that could hold both.
Muchachi.
It stayed with me, and eventually became the name of this studio.
